[i-DAT] Institute of Digital Art & Technology

i-DAT (Institute of Digital Art & Technology) is dedicated to exploring innovative applications of digital technology through collaborations between artists, academics and researchers in emergent fields of practice, on a regional, national and international basis.

Through a dynamic integration of science, technology and art, i-DAT creates a platform for the exploration and dissemination of contemporary cultural production. Through its education, research and digital arts and technology programme i-DAT is critically engaged with the creative industries and development of new audiences.


i-DAT is a division of the School of Computing, Faculty of Technology and University of Plymouth Centre of Expertise, and is supported by the European Regional Development Fund.


i-DAT staff is drawn from academics working in the Interactive Media Group, Science Technology and Art Research [CAiiA-STAR] and collaborating partners.
